Somebody’s Watching You

There’s always somebody watching you.
If you’re a mom, you’re kids are surely watching you.

If you’re an employer, your employees are watching you.

If you’re a Pastor or ministry leader, you’ve definitely got people watching you.

If you’re a celebrity, people are always watching you.

If you’re an employee, your employer and other coworkers are watching you.

We may not think we matter, sometimes, or that we have much significance where we are, but if you’re alive today, I’m telling you, you do.
Even if you’re not making the wisest decisions or doing the greatest job in life, people are watching.                               And, yes, most of the time they may be judging. That’s what people do.

What one person may be watching and admiring from you, another may be judging and disliking about you.            But know this, no matter what you do – good or bad, right or wrong – someone is watching.

Seeing things like that is what helps me, sometimes, to keep focused.

What am I doing this or that for?

How is this or that gonna look, especially if I’m on a “mission” for good?

I have a sweet friend who I told I was in the choir at church and she said, “you sing, too?!” “I know I’ve told you this before, but you’re amazing!”
It kind of made me emotional because I don’t think I’m that amazing…don’t get me wrong, though, I do say that I am, just in fun, though.

But to see that she was serious, was like wow, really?

I don’t serve at church for myself. Though I do love praise and worship, it’s the love I have for God that has me up there.                                                                I’ll be honest, I dont teach in children’s ministry because I love kids, or even like kids, but there’s nothing more that brings such joy to me, than to see all their beautiful faces and spirits coming to know my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

I love those kids like they’re my own, and the troubled ones are my favorite. That’s why God has put me there, and I’m willing to be obedient to Him.

That’s why I do those things.

So, to hear someone say sweet things like that to me, reminds me that my love for God and my wanting His will in the earth, like He does, is seen by others and that anything I do contrary to that, is also seen by them, as well.

That’s kind of scary, if you ask me. It seems like a huge responsibility.

But, that’s exactly what it is!
We all have a responsibility to ensure that our beliefs, our actions, our lives, line up with our convictions, whatever they may be.

What do we want our lives to represent?

Well, think about this…
Whatever we’re doing on a daily basis, the decisions we make, the attitudes we have,  are all being watched by someone.

Hopefully, not in a creepy way, but you know what I mean.

For me, I want to live up to that amazing that some people may see in me, because I, ultimately, want to be that example of Christ.

Even the apostle Paul said, “Follow me, as I follow Christ”. (1 Corinthians 11:1)

That does not mean I’m going to get it right every time, but as I am following Christ and living my life based on that, then others will see that and, hopefully, come to know Him for themselves.

Proverbs 24:16 says “Though a righteous man may fall seven times, he gets back up”

And if I do fall, I want people to see that I do get back up and keep moving forward.

We all have a sphere of influence, so let’s all do what we can to influence those around us, the next generation, everyone – to be the best they can be, as we are doing the same.
